It began with a journey. Francis, the mind behind Gut Common, spent years wandering through Tibetan areas and the ethnic minority villages of Yunnan — not as a tourist, but as a listener. He sat with farmers, shared meals under open skies, and witnessed how centuries-old traditions sustained entire communities long before the modern world took notice.

A personal health challenge became the catalyst. Searching for answers in gut health and probiotic science, Francis discovered a profound connection — the same ancient fermentation and natural-process foods that minority communities had perfected over generations were quietly aligned with cutting-edge nutritional research.

The name "Gut Common" was born from this convergence: gut for health, common for shared — a bridge between the wisdom of the earth and the people who carry it. Every product is sourced under Hong Kong's rigorous quality standards, ensuring that what reaches your table is both authentic and safe.

The first product — 水乳大地 (Shui Ru Da Di) — a Cabernet Sauvignon cultivated at 2,360 metres elevation in Yunnan's sacred mountain valleys. Grown by 16 local families, harvested with minimal intervention, and aged in clay pots rather than oak barrels. It is not just a wine. It is a landscape in a bottle.

36-Month Aged, Bai Minority Traditional Methods
A heritage delicacy cured using ancestral Bai minority methods in Nuodeng village, one of China's oldest salt-producing regions. Each ham is hand-salted with local well salt and aged for a minimum of 36 months in the unique Nuodeng microclimate. The result is a complex, nutty flavor profile that rivals the finest European hams.

A wine born from the earth itself
Cultivated high in the sacred mountain valleys of Yunnan, 水乳大地 is a testament to what happens when nature is allowed to lead. The intense altitude, dramatic temperature swings, and pristine air create grapes of extraordinary depth — translated into a wine that is both wild and refined.
種植於雲南神聖山谷高處,水乳大地是大自然主導時的證明。極端的海拔、戲劇性的溫差與潔淨的空氣,造出了具有非凡深度的葡萬粒——釀成一款既野生又精緻的葡萬酒。
Guided by two worlds
Yves Roduit, from Chateau Roduit Winery, a Swiss winemaker, and Helene, a Tibetan woman raised among the mountain vineyards — together they bring a rare philosophy: minimal intervention, no herbicides, and a deep respect for the land.
Each vine yields only 6–8 clusters per season. This is not scarcity by accident. It is devotion by design.

Designed by Karma, a contemporary Tibetan artist, the label of 水乳大地 is more than decoration — it is a story told in brushstrokes.
This artwork masterfully portrays two roles — traditional and modern — within the parallel universe of a single individual. It tells a story of a soul: one that is hardworking and wise, capable of shining brightly in any environment.
The figure in the painting loves this land deeply; her beautiful long hair transforms into a pure stream, nourishing and connecting her to the land of her ancestors. Through her passion and abilities, she strives to make the world a better place.
This piece also symbolises the collaboration between Chateau Roduit and GutCommon — two vastly different worlds, Tibet and Hong Kong, yet connected by a shared vision.

Aged in clay pots, not oak barrels. This ancient method preserves the wine's natural terroir expression — no added flavour, only the honest voice of the mountain.

地質構造
產區位於青藏高原南緣橫斷山脈核心地帶,屬印度板塊與歐亞板塊碰撞擠壓形成的褶皺山系。地形呈「三山夾兩江」格局:梅里雪山、雲嶺雪山、中甸雪山自西向東排列,瀾滄江(湄公河上游)與金沙江(長江上游)穿切深谷。海拔落差極大,從河谷1,600m到山峰6,740m,造就極為豐富的微氣候帶。
土壤類型
受億萬年河流切割與冰川作用,產區土壤類型極為豐富:河谷兩岸以沖積砂礫土與石灰質黏土為主,排水性優良;山坡高處則為風化花崗岩與片麻岩碎石土壤,礦物質豐富。部分地塊含有紅色砂岩與紫色頁岩,為葡萄酒帶來獨特的礦物感。土壤有機質含量高,因遠離工業污染。

- 飛機:迪慶香格里拉機場(DIG),有昆明、成都、拉薩等直飛航班,飛行約1小時
- 自駕:昆明出發經 G214 滇藏公路約 680km(10–12小時),途經大理、麗江
- 包車:從麗江包車約 4–5 小時到香格里拉市,再到德欽約 3–4 小時
- 巴士:昆明/麗江/大理均有長途客運到香格里拉

- 葡萄採收期(9月下旬–10月):最佳酒莊體驗,可觀摩手工採收
- 春夏(5–8月):花開草綠,但7–8月雨季需留意
